'Ohana Kapua'ala
This Spring, we bid a heartfelt hui hou to our beloved ʻAnakē Dorothy, whose passing marked the end of an era for our ʻohana.
As family gathered in remembrance, sharing stories, laughter, and cherished memories of her life, something became deeply apparent — though bound by genealogy, many among the younger generations had never truly come to know one another. Despite our large and growing ʻohana, we had never gathered for a formal family reunion.
In that moment, it became clear that the time had finally come.
To honor those who came before us and strengthen the bonds among those who carry the family forward, plans were set in motion for our very first ʻOhana Kapuaʻala Reunion, to be held on Maui next year — a time to reconnect, deepen our roots, celebrate our heritage, and create lasting memories for generations yet to come.
